ICDC is a non-profit organization, established on February 2, 1953. Its purpose is to enhance the quality of life for its citizens through industry, business, education, agriculture, recreation, tourism, and unity among the citizens of Itawamba County, Mississippi.
ICDC’s program of work is carried out by our volunteers working through our committee system. For over half a century we have been at the forefront in promoting Itawamba County, Mississippi.
The mission of the Itawamba County Development Council is to improve and enhance the quality of life for all citizens and promote orderly business and economic development in Itawamba County.
Current Committees Include:
Small Business Development
The Small Business Development Committee assists ICDC staff in ensuring quality assistance for our local business owners on issues of interest such as: retail promotions, business roundtable, marketing, tourism, and small business start-ups. We are always seeking to improve our services for the businesses of Itawamba County!
The Marketing Itawamba Committee provides support and tourism efforts to ICDC staff, local municipalities, and the Welcome Center. They will help promote Itawamba County through signage, billboards, tourism packets for hotel guests and ICC students, and promote special events throughout the county. This committee will also provide marketing assistance for new and existing businesses.
The Itawamba Leadership Committee is tasked with recruiting High School students to participate in leadership activities. These activities are to build the future leaders of Itawamba County! The youth will learn leadership skills, character building skills, and team building skills. We know the importance of readying our future leaders and investing in their future endeavors.
This committee supports our county’s existing industry. They seek to address and provide our manufacturers with a business climate that is conducive to running a successful business. This committee will work to provide support to Three Rivers Planning and Development for site and business development in the county.
