The City of Fulton and Itawamba Main Street are excited to join forces to bring back the Redlands Festival. T.M. Clark was a descendent of the Chickasaw Indians and dreamed for years of creating a festival to highlight the county’s Chickasaw Heritage. On April 3, 1976, his dream was made into a reality when the first Redlands Festival was held. The festival grew each year and had over a twenty year run. It is more important now than ever to ensure a generation of children know and understand the importance of our Chickasaw heritage. We are bringing back the nostalgia of the festival too. The festival will have entertainment, drama reenactments of the Chickasaw traveling to North MS, Arts & Crafts Vendors, Food vendors, an Educational Corner in Playgarden Park for the children to have hands on experience with such things has quilting, crocheting, gardening, canning and preserving, and other fun activities. Horse drawn wagons will help deliver visitors to Main Street from parking areas. We have many local talented artists in Itawamba County and beyond. An Art Contest will be held for children and adults. Their will also be some new activities: Boss of the Toss Cornhole Tournament, Doggie Dash, and a 5K fun run. Come be a part of paying homage to our Chickasaw Heritage and have some fun too!
